Book Description
No one could have truly predicted the mass devastation of the 2020 pandemic. Everyone in the world has been affected by the pandemic and forever changed in some way. Hopefully, most people will emerge as better human beings, with a greater level of understanding and support for their fellow man.
During this tumultuous time, I was overwhelmed with emotions regarding COVID-19, politics, racial injustice, love, and courage. I turned to pen and paper to express my feelings and discovered poetry as an extremely cathartic form of writing.
I found great insight and solace through poetry during a very dark time in history. Poetry is a window to the soul that can help illuminate the darkness.
I hope the reader finds great comfort and hope for the future through this book's poetry and beautiful artwork. Together, we can have a brighter tomorrow!

Editorial Review
Dr. Lori Schneider’s A Brighter Tomorrow is a poignant and thought-provoking collection of poetry that explores the depths of human resilience, love, and the enduring hope for a better future. Inspired by the turmoil of the 2020 pandemic and the social struggles that defined that period, Schneider brings a unique perspective shaped by her experiences as a neurologist, wife, mother, and compassionate observer of life’s complexities. Each poem is infused with raw emotion, capturing moments of personal reflection and broader calls for unity and understanding in a divided world.
The collection takes readers on an emotional journey through themes of creativity, courage, love, injustice, and hope. Schneider’s verses are both deeply personal and universally relatable, offering comfort and inspiration while addressing the challenges and triumphs that define the human condition. Her ability to intertwine introspective storytelling with profound social commentary makes the collection an engaging and transformative read.
Complementing the poetry is the stunning artwork by Dr. Mark Salevitz, whose Impressionist-inspired pieces beautifully mirror the tone and themes of the poems. Together, the poetry and artwork create a holistic sensory experience that resonates on multiple levels, drawing readers further into the world Schneider has crafted.
Highlights include reflections on creativity and the writing process, tributes to frontline heroes of the pandemic, explorations of social justice, and celebrations of the healing power of love and connection. Schneider’s work reminds us of the strength we find in unity and the potential for growth in the face of adversity.
A Brighter Tomorrow is more than a collection of poetry; it is a testament to the power of art and expression as tools for healing and connection. Schneider’s debut as a creative writer is a moving, heartfelt work that inspires readers to envision a kinder, more compassionate world. For those seeking solace, inspiration, and a renewed sense of hope, this book is a powerful and timely addition to any collection.
